Our service to the Marshall community

We support the elderly and homebound five days a week including holidays

Healthy Meal Preparation

Oaklawn Hospital prepares and packages meals under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian. Each client’s diet is planned according to doctor specifications when needed, and personal likes and dislikes are taken into account. This ensures that clients receive meals tailored to their dietary needs, helping them maintain their nutritional health.

Meal Delivery

Mobile Meals of Marshall, Inc. delivers nutritious meals to elderly, handicapped, and home-bound residents. Volunteers deliver an average of 38 hot noon meals and cold supper sacks to the homes of eligible clients each day. Two delivery routes ensure the delivery time is less than one hour from the time it is picked up in Oaklawn’s kitchen.

Community Check Point

The program is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and uses volunteer drivers to deliver meals five days a week, including holidays. Volunteers also act as a daily check on the state and well-being of each client, reporting anything unusual to the Executive Director for personal family contacts or to the police or family doctor. This service helps keep people in their homes longer by meeting their nutritional needs and providing a vital connection to the community.
